Oshiomhole Questions Peter Obi’s 2027 Presidential Ambition, Calls Him a Trader

Edo North Senator Adams Oshiomhole has criticised Peter Obi’s presidential ambitions, arguing that Obi’s background as a trader does not prepare him for long-term national planning. Speaking in a television interview, Oshiomhole said traders focus on short business cycles, while governing Nigeria requires the perspective of manufacturers, investors and entrepreneurs who can plan for years. He also questioned Obi’s political journey after leaving APGA and alleged that Obi’s business activities export jobs and import unemployment. Oshiomhole said Obi would not become Nigeria’s president.
