A 400-level Chemistry student of the Federal University of Lafia, Habiba Ummi Lele, was reportedly killed during a suspected armed robbery attack in Nasarawa State. She was said to be travelling back to Lafia after attending a friend’s graduation at the College of Health and Technology in Keffi when gunmen opened fire on the vehicle on Saturday, August 1, 2026. She reportedly died at the scene. Details of the attack remain unclear. Her funeral prayer was held in Kanje, Awe Local Government Area, on Sunday, attended by relatives, friends, community leaders and sympathisers.
