16-Year-Old Convicted of Sexual Abuse on School Bus
A 16-year-old Indiana teen has been found guilty of sexually abusing a non-verbal, neurodivergent seven-year-old child on a school bus. The two-day jury trial concluded on April 1, following surveillance footage that reportedly showed multiple incidents when the defendant was 15. Officials first learned of the alleged abuse on April 17, 2025, after a bus monitor saw the teen push the child from his lap. The monitor alerted the driver and the students were separated. The case was later transferred to adult court on the grounds that the teen was beyond rehabilitation in the juvenile system. The teen, Landon Doty, was convicted of rape, child molestation, sexual battery, criminal confinement of a young child, and public indecency. A sentencing date has not yet been set.
