FG to Welcome 270 Nigerians Evacuated from South Africa Amid Growing Xenophobia

In the ongoing voluntary evacuation programme, the Federal Government will receive 270 Nigerians returning from South Africa on Wednesday, July 8, 2026. An Air Peace jet departs Lagos for Johannesburg on Tuesday, July 7, at 3:30 pm. It will leave Johannesburg at midnight and arrive in Lagos at about 5:00 am with the evacuees. This marks the fourth repatriation flight organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as xenophobia fears intensify in South Africa.
