Dickson Faults OK Movement’s Plan to Set Up Presidential Campaign Council

Nigeria Democratic Congress leader Seriake Dickson has criticised the Obidient-Kwankwaso Movement’s decision to create a 59-member presidential campaign council. Dickson said support groups should focus on grassroots mobilisation for candidates rather than establish structures that could compete with the political party sponsoring those candidates. The OK Movement had announced the council last week and said it does not need approval from individuals within the party to conduct its organisational activities. Dickson described the move as unprecedented and argued that support groups should not assume the role of political parties.
