Man Arrested After Cane Knife Attack Over Public Defecation Complaint
Officers from Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) were called to Greylands, Tongaat, KZN, after reports of a man hacked with a cane knife during a dispute on April 25, 2026. According to bystanders, the complainant challenged his neighbor for allegedly defecating on the walkway outside his home. The suspect then armed himself with a cane knife and slashed the man’s left elbow. RUSA officers tracked the attacker to his residence and placed him under arrest. The suspect admitted using the weapon and led officers to a roof, where the cane knife was recovered and seized as evidence. The arrested individual has been handed over to the Tongaat unit of the South African Police Service for further investigation.
