Afrobeats singer Rema says he deliberately keeps his wealth and lifestyle private because he does not want young people to feel pressured by what they see online. He said many young Nigerians compare themselves with successful public figures and may feel compelled to rush their own progress. According to him, everyone has their own timing. Rema also said parents can add to this pressure by comparing children or pushing them into courses they do not want to study. He said he prefers a simple style, mostly wearing streetwear rather than frequently displaying designer items.
