Tinubu Commissions Gaduwa Road, Praises Wike for Bringing Development to All FCT Districts

Tinubu Commissions Gaduwa Road, Praises Wike for Bringing Development to All FCT Districts — 1 of 3
1 / 3

President Bola Tinubu, represented by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, commissioned the Full Scope Development of Akinwumi Ajibola Street and three local access roads in Gaduwa District, Abuja. He said the project under the Renewed Hope Agenda demonstrates this administration’s commitment to finishing work that improves residents’ quality of life. Tinubu noted families endured impassable roads for years and that the new road, drainage, and streetlights will boost mobility, safety, and property values. Tinubu commended FCT Minister Nyesom Wike for ending the era of “mobilisation without movement,” ensuring prompt funding and effective supervision to bring contractors back on site and deliver on schedule. Minister Wike added that every FCT district now benefits from government projects, thanks to timely budget approvals and close collaboration between the Executive and National Assembly. He also urged local councils to seek approval before naming federally built roads.

What impact do you think the new Gaduwa roads will have on local businesses and daily traffic in Abuja?

Will this new road actually reduce daily congestion, or could it simply reroute Abuja traffic without easing peak-hour jams?

It's interesting that this project highlights development, but I wonder if these roads truly address the broader infrastructure needs across FCT districts.

Commissioning the roads sounds positive, yet many neighbouring districts still lack basic facilities. Is this project really the top priority?

Local authorities should schedule regular maintenance checks to ensure the newly commissioned roads don't deteriorate quickly under heavy traffic and weather conditions.
