Iran Says US Strike on Wedding in Sirik Killed 4, Injured More Than 50
Iranian Red Crescent officials said a US strike hit a wedding gathering in Sirik, southern Iran, on Tuesday, killing four people, including a child, and injuring more than 50 others. Footage shared by an Iranian government account showed debris and extensive damage at the reported venue. The US military did not directly comment on the alleged wedding strike. Iran’s Revolutionary Guards later announced attacks on US bases in Jordan, the UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, Iraq and the Kurdistan region, marking a major escalation in the conflict. I see this as another example of the cruelty of war and the double standards around civilian suffering. Those who excuse atrocities elsewhere should not expect sympathy only when violence reaches their own communities.
