Okada Rider Allegedly Shot Dead by Passenger in Nnewi Robbery Attack

A commercial motorcyclist, identified as Edeh, was reportedly shot dead in Nnewichi, Nnewi North Local Government Area of Anambra State, after picking up a passenger alleged to be an armed robber. The attacker allegedly shot him during the trip, took his motorcycle and fled. Residents reportedly returned to the area after hearing a gunshot and found the rider injured by the roadside. He was taken to hospital but later died. Edeh, who was said to be from Ebonyi State and lived in Oraifite with his wife and children, was reportedly still paying for the motorcycle through hire purchase. His family has appealed for an investigation and support for his widow and children. Police had not issued an official statement on the incident or announced any arrest at the time of the report.
