CNG Queues Won’t End With Promises: Publish the Station Delivery Schedule
Pi-CNG says CNG refuelling queues could reduce significantly before the end of December as more infrastructure comes on stream. But motorists need more than another deadline. They need a clear, verifiable delivery plan. Which stations will open before December 31? Where are they located, what is their dispensing capacity, and do they have reliable gas supply? A station without gas is not a solution, and hours spent in queues are not evidence of a successful transport transition. Recent reports of motorists waiting overnight at stations in Ibafo, alongside persistent queues in Abuja, show the scale of the problem. Commercial drivers are losing working hours, while passengers face delays and higher transport stress. I support the CNG programme and want it to succeed. That is why I am calling for a public CNG Station Delivery and Reliability Dashboard that shows each station’s commissioning status, capacity and verified gas availability. Hope is not a delivery schedule; Nigerians deserve to see the plan and track the results.
