Edo Police Arrest Church Overseer Over Alleged Abduction of Five Girls
The Edo State Police Command says it has arrested Nicholas Nusa, 50, a self-acclaimed prophet and overseer of Divine Grace Church, over the alleged abduction of five girls in Akoko-Edo Local Government Area. Police said the children were allegedly taken from the Ibillo and Imoga communities at different times between September 2025 and April 2026. The suspect is also accused of impregnating one of the girls, who is 15 years old. According to the command, the girl has received medical care after a Caesarean section and is now being supported by a child-protection organisation. Police say efforts are ongoing to reunite the other children with their families as investigations continue.
