OMPG Alleges Victor Antai’s Covert Campaign Against Governor Umo Eno
Grassroots group Oro Mandate Preservation Group (OMPG) accuses NDDC Executive Director Sir Victor Antai of orchestrating a secret media campaign to undermine Akwa Ibom Governor Umo Eno. In a March 18, 2026 statement, OMPG leaders Comfort Eddy Essang and Comrade Edeke Edet claim Antai used a phantom organisation, Volunteer4Equity & Justice, to spread misleading publications and stoke division over political zoning in Oron Federal Constituency. OMPG warns that Antai’s actions threaten the unity between Governor Eno and Senate President Godswill Akpabio. The group highlights alleged incidents in Eket and Oron Union events where the governor and his deputy were disrespected. They argue the zoning debate lacks moral justification and suggest Antai’s real aim is to position himself for the deputy governorship. OMPG urges him to focus on his NDDC duties and refrain from activities that could destabilise the state’s political harmony.
