Are Economic Policies Improving Lives or Only Increasing Government Revenue?

I am concerned that some economic policies may be prioritising government revenue over the welfare of households and businesses. Revenue is important, but weakening consumers’ purchasing power can reduce demand, strain small businesses and make daily life harder for families. How sustainable is revenue growth when the people expected to pay taxes, consume and invest are under increasing pressure? Economic growth should mean more than stronger GDP figures. It should be reflected in better jobs, healthier businesses, improved purchasing power and a real improvement in living standards. Government revenue and public welfare should not be treated as opposing goals. Policies need to support both before the pressure on households and businesses becomes harder to reverse.
