Former American Idol Contestant Antonella Barba Charged Over Alleged Target Shoplifting

Former American Idol contestant Antonella Barba, 39, has been charged after police alleged that she shoplifted items valued at under $200 from a Target store in Ocean Township, New Jersey, on August 10. Police said she was seen moving between a fitting room and restroom before allegedly concealing items in a bag. Officers reportedly stopped her outside the store and recovered the items. She has pleaded not guilty and is due in Ocean Township Municipal Court on November 18. The charge is the latest in a series of legal cases involving Barba, including a 2010 shoplifting arrest and a 2018 drug-trafficking conviction for which she served a prison sentence.
