Tanzanian Man Arrested for Raping and Strangling 11-Year-Old in Mombasa
A Tanzanian man is in custody after detectives linked him to the rape and murder of 11-year-old Glorious Kaiza Maore in Mombasa. The girl went missing on March 15, 2026, after Sunday school practice. Days later, children found her body bound in a sack in the Manyani area. Police say the victim had been defiled and strangled before her body was hidden. Investigators recovered partially burnt clothes and bedding at the suspect’s abandoned home, suggesting an attempt to destroy evidence. A manhunt led to the arrest of Tony Juma, also known as Kipara, on April 12. He was arraigned at Shanzu Law Courts, and the court granted a 21-day custodial order on April 13 to complete forensic analysis. Investigations continue ahead of the next court mention on May 4, 2026, as authorities prepare the case for prosecution.
