Troops Rescue 41 Travellers After Bandit Attack on Zamfara Highway
Troops of Operation Fansan Yamma have rescued 41 travellers abducted by bandits along a highway in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State. The travellers were reportedly heading from Senegal to Kano when their vehicle developed a mechanical fault. Bandits allegedly attacked the stranded vehicle and tried to move the passengers into nearby areas. Troops acted on intelligence, engaged the attackers and forced them to flee into surrounding farmlands. The rescued victims include 24 men, 10 women and seven children. They are receiving support before being reunited with their families and transit authorities.
