Ken-Eva Seeks Suspension of Niger Delta Economic Summit Over Trademark Dispute

Kenule Nwiya Jnr and Ken-Eva Consult Ltd have asked the Niger Delta Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Trade, Mines and Agriculture to suspend the Niger Delta Economic and Investment Summit scheduled for September 15–17, 2026. Their counsel said a Federal High Court order requiring all parties to maintain the status quo remains in force while competing claims over the summit’s name, trademark and branding are before the courts. Ken-Eva’s legal team disputed claims that an Abuja court order restrained Nwiya from asserting his intellectual-property rights. It said the order cited by the chamber concerned substituted service through email and WhatsApp. The chamber has not been represented in this account. Ken-Eva warned that holding the summit under a disputed brand could expose sponsors, partners and participants to further legal claims.
