Police in Ogun State have arrested Adewale Ogoemi Arojah for allegedly creating a duplicate social-media profile of a cleric and using it to defraud people seeking prayers and spiritual assistance. The arrest followed a complaint by the cleric, who said members of the public had reported suspicious transactions carried out in his name. Police said detectives traced the suspect to Ajegunle along the Ilaro–Ibogun axis. Investigators allege that the suspect used fake prophecies and prayer offers to gain victims' trust, collecting more than ₦18 million from people in Nigeria and abroad. He has been transferred to the Ogun State Criminal Investigation Department in Abeokuta for further investigation and possible prosecution.
