The Final Betrayal of Gen. Oseni Braimah
The desert air in Benisheikh grew heavy as Brig-Gen. Oseni Braimah stood alone, his radio mute for three days. He had pleaded for T-72 tanks and thermal optics from Abuja, only to be met with empty assurances while war funds lined the pockets of corrupt officials. When insurgents struck under the cover of night with brand-new technicals and night-vision goggles, his men’s worn rifles jammed and his calls for air support went unanswered. It wasn’t the enemy but diverted contracts and profiteering in air-conditioned villas that doomed his defense. I dedicate this semi-biographical epitaph to his bravery and to expose the rot at the heart of our military and political leadership. Salute.
