Ben Delo: BitMEX Co-Founder, Legal Case, Philanthropy and Net Worth
Ben Delo is a British technology entrepreneur who co-founded the cryptocurrency derivatives platform BitMEX in 2014. Before that, he worked as a software engineer at IBM and later on high-frequency trading systems at major financial firms. In 2022, Delo admitted to violating the United States Bank Secrecy Act after BitMEX failed to maintain an adequate anti-money-laundering programme. He received 30 months of probation and, in 2025, was pardoned by President Donald Trump alongside other BitMEX founders. Delo has also backed education, mathematics research and autism support through major charitable donations. His wealth has been estimated at more than $1 billion, while his recent political donations in the United Kingdom have drawn public attention.
