South African Envoy Meets Ghana’s Mahama Over Migration and Intolerance
South African International Relations Minister Ronald Lamola met Ghanaian President John Mahama in Accra as a special envoy for President Cyril Ramaphosa. Their discussions focused on shared regional concerns, including migration, intolerance and violence. Lamola said South Africa rejects xenophobia, racism and homophobia, while reaffirming its commitment to the rule of law. He added that South Africa and Ghana support the African Union’s push for safe, regular and orderly migration, including efforts to address the causes of irregular migration. Lamola is also expected to meet President Bola Tinubu soon.
