Military Foils Midnight ISWAP Raid at Monguno School, 46 Students Rescued

Security forces from Operation HADIN KAI and the Mobile Police Force intercepted suspected ISWAP terrorists during a 1:30 a.m. raid on the Federal Government Girls College hostel in Monguno. Attackers reportedly gained entry with help from collaborators and opened fire. Troops quickly reinforced the site and engaged in a fierce exchange that forced the insurgents to retreat without abducting any student. All 46 residents were evacuated to a nearby barracks, treated, and confirmed medically stable. Sadly, some students were killed by stray gunfire during the rescue operation. The military has launched investigations to identify and arrest collaborators and is pursuing the fleeing fighters. Officials say measures will be stepped up to protect schools and communities across the North-East.
