Dangote Begins Construction of East Africa Refinery in Kenya’s Lamu

The Dangote East Africa Refinery has been formally launched in Lamu, Kenya. Presidents Yoweri Museveni of Uganda, Romuald Wadagni of Benin and Jean-Lucien Savi de Tové of Togo attended the ceremony. Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed was also present. Former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo and representatives of other African governments joined the event at Lamu Port, the proposed refinery site.
