Plateau Troops Nab Suspect in Retired Colonel’s Abduction

Troops from Sector 3 of Operation Safe Haven have arrested a 35-year-old man linked to the January 4 kidnapping of retired Col. Joseph Ajanaku along Rukuba Road in Bassa LGA, Plateau State. The suspect, identified as Abubakar Ahamadu, was taken into custody around 4:00 p.m. on May 20 after an intelligence-led operation targeting kidnapping networks in the area. He is currently being profiled and investigated as security forces continue to pursue other members of the criminal ring.
