ADP Presidential Primary Heads to Court as Chukwuka Seeks Aliyu’s Disqualification
An ADP presidential aspirant, Dr Johnson Emmanuel Chukwuka, has asked the Federal High Court in Abuja to nullify the party’s May 2026 presidential primary, which produced Abbas-Bin Aliyu as its candidate for the 2027 election. Chukwuka is seeking to be declared the party’s valid candidate and wants INEC to remove Aliyu’s name from its records. He argues that the primary and nomination process breached the Electoral Act and the party’s guidelines. The dispute also involves allegations of an unauthorised upload of a nomination form to the INEC portal. The party has asked INEC to preserve login and audit records while it investigates the transaction. The court will determine the validity of the primary and Aliyu’s nomination.
