Wike: Tinubu Could Have Won Osun ‘At All Cost’ With Federal Might

FCT Minister Nyesom Wike says President Bola Tinubu could have secured an APC victory in the Osun governorship election if the Federal Government had deployed its full political influence. Wike said no “federal might” was used in the poll, which returned Governor Ademola Adeleke for another term after he defeated APC candidate Bola Oyebamiji on the Accord Party platform. He also claimed Adeleke might have joined the APC under different political circumstances. Looking ahead to 2027, Wike predicted an easier presidential election for Tinubu than in 2023. He argued that opposition parties have been weakened amid ongoing political realignments.
