NITDA DG Calls for Digital Infrastructure Investment to Drive Jigawa’s Economy

NITDA DG Calls for Digital Infrastructure Investment to Drive Jigawa’s Economy

The Director-General of the National Information Technology Development Agency has called for strategic investment in digital infrastructure to support Jigawa State’s participation in Nigeria’s digital economy. The focus goes beyond internet connectivity. Reliable broadband, stable electricity, data infrastructure, cybersecurity, digital public services and practical skills are needed to help residents and businesses benefit from technology. Improved digital access could support farmers with market information, help small businesses reach more customers, expand online government services and create opportunities for young people in remote work, software development and entrepreneurship. Success will depend on affordable access, clear funding and delivery timelines, as well as cooperation between the federal and state governments, telecom operators, private investors and local communities.
