Gunmen Kill 38-Year-Old Miner in Plateau Community

A 38-year-old man, Raymond Dalyop, was killed while returning from a mining site in Dum community, Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State. The attack reportedly occurred around 6:00 p.m. on September 28, 2026. Troops of Operation Enduring Peace, deployed in Bachit, responded after receiving a report of the incident. Security personnel found Dalyop's body at the scene, while his pumping machine was reportedly taken by the assailants. Community members evacuated the body for burial, and troops have launched a manhunt for those responsible.
