Senate Declines Probe of ‘Fake’ PFIPC Despite 2026 Budget Line
The Senate says the executive must explain how the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC) got a budget line in the 2026 Appropriation Act. It has received no petition to investigate the alleged fake agency or its claimed director-general, Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi. Senate Media Committee Chairman Yemi Adaramodu said vetting and budget insertions are executive functions. He noted that the National Assembly neither created PFIPC nor screened its leadership. President Tinubu has tasked the ICPC with probing the PFIPC’s legality and reporting back within 30 days. Anyone found culpable at the end of the investigation will face legal action.
