INEC Begins Nationwide PVC Distribution Ahead of 2027 Elections
The Independent National Electoral Commission says it will begin nationwide distribution of Permanent Voter Cards on Thursday ahead of the 2027 general elections. The exercise will cover newly registered voters, people who transferred their voting locations and those seeking replacements for damaged cards. INEC says it is also strengthening technology to prevent lost, stolen or compromised PVCs from being used by unauthorised persons. The commission urged political parties and supporters to conduct campaigns peacefully and avoid intimidation or violence.
