Farmer Dies After Alleged Attack by Herders in Kaduna Community
A farmer, Reuben Akawu, has died after an alleged attack by herders in Rafin Dadi, Kaninkon, in Kaduna State’s Jemaa Local Government Area. Troops responding to a distress call on August 24 found Akawu seriously injured. He was taken to the General Hospital in Kafanchan but later died from his injuries. One suspect, 20-year-old Gambo Ibrahim, has been arrested. Security personnel are working to locate other suspects, while residents have been urged to remain calm and avoid reprisals. Family members and Fulani residents reportedly contributed ₦197,000 towards the victim’s burial expenses.
