2027: Adebayo Rejects Baba-Ahmed’s Claim That Opposition Candidates Cannot Fix Nigeria
Adewole Adebayo has rejected Senator Datti Baba-Ahmed’s suggestion that opposition figures seeking to replace President Bola Tinubu cannot improve Nigeria. Speaking on Arise TV’s News Night, Adebayo said Baba-Ahmed’s view should be limited to politicians he has personally worked with. He argued that Baba-Ahmed could not fairly make the same judgement about candidates he had not dealt with directly. Baba-Ahmed, Peter Obi’s running mate in the 2023 election, had said Tinubu should prepare to leave office but should not hand over to current opposition contenders. Adebayo suggested that Baba-Ahmed’s past experience with Obi may have shaped his broader assessment of other presidential hopefuls.
