Man Receives Life Sentence for Killing Two Nigerian Security Guards in Canada
A Canadian court has sentenced 31-year-old Kensworth Alton Francis to life imprisonment for the murder of two Nigerian men. The victims, 25-year-old Tosin Amos-Arowoshegbe and 22-year-old Chibueze Momah, worked as security guards at ATL Lounge in Vaughan, Ontario. On July 23, 2022, a fight broke out inside the nightclub shortly after 3:30 a.m., and both men were fatally shot. A 20-year-old woman was also seriously injured but survived. York Regional Police, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and U.S. Marshals joined the investigation and issued a Canada-wide warrant for Francis. Nearly two years later, on March 24, 2024, Francis was arrested in Hartford, Connecticut, and extradited to Ontario. A jury convicted him of two counts of first-degree murder and one count of unlawfully causing bodily harm. On June 19, 2026, he received two life sentences with no parole eligibility for 25 years, plus an eight-year term for the additional injury charge, all to run concurrently.
