Ex-House Rep Mbora Defects from PDP to ADC Citing Party Turmoil
Mr. Eta Mbora, a former member of the 9th House of Representatives, has officially joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Calabar. He represented Calabar Municipality/Odukpani Federal Constituency under the PDP. Mbora said the prolonged internal crisis within the People’s Democratic Party weakened its structure. “It was a difficult decision, but necessary in light of recent developments,” he noted, while expressing gratitude for the opportunities the PDP gave him at local, state, and national levels. He thanked his supporters for their loyalty over the years and urged them to participate in the ADC’s registration and revalidation exercise. His defection follows similar moves by former Gov. Liyel Imoke and ex-Sen. Gershom Bassey, reshaping Cross River’s political landscape ahead of the next election cycle.
