UK Prison Nurse Admits Relationship With Inmate Serving Sentence for Fatal Attack

A 29-year-old prison nurse has pleaded guilty to misconduct in public office after admitting an inappropriate relationship with an inmate at HMP Wandsworth in south-west London. The inmate, 28-year-old Jahki Crosdale, was serving a six-year sentence over the fatal 2015 attack on trainee plumber Charlie Burns. Prosecutors said the relationship ran from September 2023 to November 2024 and involved communication through an unauthorised mobile phone. The case came to light after Crosdale used the nurse's address in court documents. He also admitted sending images or recordings from two prisons without permission. The nurse has been temporarily barred from prison work by the nursing regulator and is due for sentencing in February 2027.
