Imo Woman and 18-Month-Old Son Die After Cooking Gas Explosion

A 39-year-old woman, Amarachi Georgina Mmadu, and her 18-month-old son, Akachukwu, have died from injuries sustained in a domestic cooking gas explosion. The incident reportedly occurred in September. A family member said they made efforts to save both victims but they later died from their injuries. He alleged that negligence during the gas-cylinder refill contributed to the explosion and called on gas vendors to take customer safety more seriously. The mother and child are scheduled to be buried on October 13 in Ikeduru, Imo State.
