45,000-Litre Diesel Tanker Falls From Otedola Bridge, Sparks Lagos Fire Emergency
A diesel tanker carrying about 45,000 litres of fuel fell from Otedola Bridge in Lagos and caught fire on Monday, triggering a major emergency response. Two men were rescued and given pre-hospital treatment before being taken to the Trauma Centre. Firefighters from the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service and NNPC Fire Service brought the blaze under control. LASEMA said the area was cordoned off while responders continued dampening operations to prevent the fire from restarting. Motorists have been advised to avoid the corridor and use alternative routes as investigations continue.
