Cross River Man Arrested for Allegedly Setting Calabar House Ablaze
Police in Cross River State have arrested 41-year-old Bassey Ekpo for allegedly setting a house on fire in the 8 Miles area of Calabar. The occupant, Ekemini Stephen, reported the incident at the Ikot Omin Police Division on Friday. Neighbours reportedly apprehended Ekpo and handed him over to the police. Police say Ekpo alleged during preliminary questioning that his 61-year-old mother instructed him to set the building ablaze. She has been named as an alleged instigator and is currently at large. Investigators have visited the scene and say they are working to establish the circumstances of the incident and identify anyone else involved.
