They told us subsidy was gone, but NNPC’s latest financial report shows ₦7.1 trillion billed as “energy security expense” while we still pay over ₦1,200 per litre at the pump. Rebranding this outlay doesn’t change the fact that it’s subsidy in disguise. Lack of transparency in public finance has eroded trust in government. We must hold leaders accountable and defend our democracy before it slips away.
