Rivers Assembly Restores Seats of Three Lawmakers After Apology Letters
The Rivers State House of Assembly has reversed its earlier decision to declare the seats of three lawmakers vacant. The affected members are Timothy Oruibienimigha of Opobo/Nkoro Constituency, Victor Oko Jumbo of Bonny Constituency and Sokari Goodboy Sokari of Ahoada West Constituency. At its 68th sitting, the Assembly considered letters in which the lawmakers apologised for missing sittings. They said they were unaware that their suspension had been lifted in December 2023. Members voted to reinstate them, allowing them to return and represent their constituencies.
