Ota-Owori LCDA Empowers 500 Girls With Leadership and Education Programme
Ota-Owori LCDA has held a girl-child empowerment and leadership programme attended by 500 students. The initiative focused on confidence, education, character development and leadership skills. The Supervisor for Women Affairs and Girl Child said schools and parents must play active roles in helping girls develop into responsible and confident adults. Participating students said the programme encouraged them to prioritise education, speak up about challenges and prepare for leadership roles. Participants also called for stronger support systems for girls facing personal or social challenges. Organisers said a similar programme for boys could be considered to promote balanced development for all children in the community.
