Senegalese Spiritual Practitioner Allegedly Confesses to Killing 20-Year-Old Woman in Ritual Case
Police in Tivaouane, Senegal, have arrested a traditional spiritual practitioner over the death of 20-year-old Ndye Bigu Sne. The suspect, identified as B. Ndiaye, allegedly told investigators that he was instructed by another practitioner to target a young woman for a ritual he believed would bring him wealth. Police say he allegedly arranged to meet the victim after she travelled to the town for Gamou celebrations. Her body was found in a bush on August 22, 2026, after she reportedly left home the previous evening. Investigators said neighbourhood inquiries and phone-record analysis helped identify the suspect. He has been detained, while an autopsy is expected to determine whether she was sexually assaulted.
