Lagos Man Jailed Four Weeks for Illegal Waste Dumping at PWD

A 56-year-old man has been sentenced to four weeks in prison after he was convicted of illegally dumping refuse along the PWD axis of Agege Motor Road in Lagos. The Lagos Waste Management Authority said its monitoring team caught him disposing of waste at an unauthorised location on Friday, July 24. He pleaded guilty when he was arraigned before a Magistrates’ Court in Bolade, Oshodi. LAWMA warned that dumping refuse on roads, medians, drainage channels, open spaces and other unauthorised areas remains an offence. Residents were urged to use their assigned PSP waste operators and approved disposal channels.
