OML30 Stakeholders Seek HEOSL Leadership Review Over Production, Spill and Payment Allegations

Stakeholders in OML30 have called on Heritage Oil UK to review the leadership of Heritage Energy Operational Services Limited (HEOSL), the operator of the asset, and remove its managing director, Ado Oseragbaje. They allege poor operational performance, weak production growth and inadequate engagement with host communities. The stakeholders claim crude output rose from about 40,000 barrels per day in 2022 to roughly 60,000 barrels per day, which they say falls below the asset’s potential. They also allege contract irregularities, delayed payments to community contractors and outstanding host-community development funds. These claims have not been independently verified. They further want regulators to investigate an alleged spill at Well-14 in Uzere, Delta State, and assess the operator’s response. The group warned that unresolved grievances could lead to disruptions at parts of OML30, with possible consequences for host communities, contractors and oil production. HEOSL and its managing director had not responded at the time of the report.
