Police Arrest Enugu Monarch, Ex-Lawmaker and Eight Others Over Alleged Attack on NDC Meeting

Police have arrested Enugu traditional ruler Igwe Obiora Igwesi, his brother and former federal lawmaker, Uchenna Igwesi, along with eight other suspects over an alleged attack on a Nigeria Democratic Congress ward meeting. The incident reportedly occurred in Obuoffia, Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State. Detectives from the Zone 13 Command in Ukpo, Anambra State, made the arrests on September 22 after an order from the Inspector-General of Police. The arrests followed a petition submitted on behalf of the NDC Obuoffia Ward to the police headquarters in Abuja.
