Police Arrest Five in Anambra Raid, Recover Suspected Drugs and Fake $100 Note
Anambra Police have arrested five suspects during a raid on an alleged criminal hideout in Nawfia, Njikoka Local Government Area. Officers of the Rapid Response Squad, Awkuzu, carried out the operation on August 20 after receiving intelligence on suspected criminal activity. Police said they recovered sachets of substances suspected to be illicit drugs worth about ₦1.45 million, vandalised electrical wires, ₦72,550 and a suspected counterfeit $100 note. The suspects are alleged to be part of a criminal network in the area. Police said their statements have led investigators to pursue other suspected members who remain at large. The Commissioner of Police has ordered a thorough investigation and intensified efforts to arrest all those linked to the alleged offences.
