I Was Robbed in Ikeja, Then Fraudsters Took a ₦200,000 Loan in My Name
I was robbed at gunpoint in Ikeja on Thursday, 29 July, while returning from church. The criminals took my two phones and power bank, and forced me to reveal my device passwords. The next day, I replaced my SIM card and inserted it into a friend's phone after it was activated. I then received email notifications showing that my FairMoney account had been used to take a ₦200,000 loan. The repayment plan shows ₦397,000 over four months. I had previously borrowed ₦30,000 from the app in May and repaid it without any issue. I tried to report the matter at Area F, Ikeja, but officers I met kept asking for money before they would help. How do I dispute a loan I did not take and prevent this debt from being tied to my name?
