Lagos CP Credits Unmarked Patrols for Eradicating Traffic Robberies
Lagos State Commissioner of Police Moshood Jimoh says traffic robberies in the state have dropped to zero thanks to unmarked patrol vehicles. He explained in a recent interview that blending into regular traffic allows officers to approach crime scenes without alerting suspects. Jimoh contrasted these with traditional marked patrol cars, which criminals spot and evade. Unmarked units give operatives the element of surprise and help them secure evidence more discreetly, making investigations smoother and more effective. The commissioner also urged residents to note vehicle identification details when reporting police misconduct. He believes this transparency will strengthen accountability and public trust in the force.
