Ogun Man Arrested for Staging Fake Bandit Attack to Gain TikTok Followers

A man identified as Qawiyu was arrested in Ogun State after staging a fake bandits attack to boost his TikTok followers. He admitted in police custody that he enlisted a local Fulani herdsman to appear in the video and directed his apprentice to record the scene. He confessed, “I raised a false alarm just to get more followers. I did it because I saw others doing the same.” He also apologized and asked for forgiveness, noting that his Ileya customers’ clothes remain unattended in his shop. Police are investigating the incident and warning the public against spreading false alarms that cause panic.
